Working closely with other leading organizations from Arizona's hospitality and tourism industries -- such as the Arizona Food Marketing Alliance, the Arizona Licensed Beverage Association, the Arizona Restaurant Association, and the Arizona Lodging & Tourism Association, BWDA has been instrumental in the development of the Beverage Alcohol Community Information Council (BACIC).
BACIC is the restaurant, bar, hospitality and tourism sectors coming together with a collective voice for Arizona's beverage alcohol industry through education, advocacy, public awareness and community outreach.
BACIC is composed of Arizona companies and trade groups who share a common interest in providing information to Arizona communities about beverage alcohol issues. BACIC seeks to ensure that underage persons do not consume alcoholic beverages and impress upon adults the importance of treating alcohol products responsibly and in moderation. Represented in the ranks of BACIC are restaurants and bars, retail stores, distributors and suppliers, sports and social clubs, hospitality and tourism groups, and others who support its mission.
Members of BACIC have devoted their financial resources, time and talent to create:
- Underage drinking prevention programs
- Responsible alcohol consumption education efforts
- Beverage alcohol server training programs
- Anti-drunk driving ad campaigns and public service announcements
- Public awareness campaigns to encourage the use of designated drivers
